The closest colour to Porsche black will be Porsche black. Go to your local car paint shop and they'll mix you a perfect match and put it in a can.

Hi,

If you pull down the carpet in the boot area where the spare tyre is kept, there should be a label on the rear bulkhead with the chassis no. and option codes on. No. 5 on this label should give you the paint code. This label should also appear in the front of you service book if it is still present. Hope this helps.

I recently had some a small pot of paint mixed for around £10. The paint pot also has the brush built into the lid. It's been brilliant for touching up all those problem areas (and a damn sight better matched to the paint the previous owner had been using!)

Regards,

Ben :bounce:

I checked at Halfords the other week they deffo had Grand Prix white & Alpine white on the system & could mix it L908 & L90E respectively. I've used them in the past & they've been OK.

L90E, Alpine White is also a VW colour, but I guess Jim already knew that.

mine werent bad enough to need replacing but i just used Kurust on them a few times.... ground it back with a grinder to metal, then body filler, sand with 6 grades of and paper course to super fine then got out the wet n dry paper 1500 weight and using water sanded it till it was super smooth, 4 coats of primer, sanded back again with 1500 wet n dry paper, lots of water, allow to dry then wipe off dust with a tack-cloth,

5 coats of aerosol halfords paint, then sanded with 1200 then 1500 wet n dry.... to get rid of the shine of the black paint..... then the next day tack clothed it again then applied 5 coats of clear coat laquer

then today i t-cut the area to blend in the paint and get rid of overspray :)

its simples :D
