Easy to find an excuse to duck out when your cars not so great.

The Italians wouldn't wear it, F1 with no Ferrari would cause a national outcry.

I'm more concerned about where we are going to stage the British Grand Prix, the guy from Donnington doesn't fill me with confidence. He can't be that wealthy if he can't afford the rent and has to be sued for it.

Was looking forward to Donnington too. I think that circuit is a lot more interesting than Silverstone. Though after spending so much upgrading it seems a bit mad to change the venue.
Ferrari won't pull out. They just want to up the budget to were they can gain an unfair advantage.

Could not Tipec offer to take over the Ferrari team?

Should be enough talent in the club to build a car for £40m especially as it doesn't need a roof.

I would suggest if they accept the offer that we build a car that doesn't look like all the others. We could make Ferrari really stand out. For example our car could be in light blue, as you don't get many that colour. A lightweight music system perhaps; James Bond gadgets to deal with the other cars; a champagne bottle holder; an automatic pilot that with computerisation could deal much more effectively with all that strain of steering the car and thinking. Our driver could then sip a cocktail whilst the computerised on board system led it round the track. We could have really dishy cheerleader type female mechanics to change the tyres, mop the brow of the new style F1 driver, maybe a little kiss on the cheek before they push him away - or perhaps for £40m we could buy a starter motor even if no-one else seems to be able to afford them. We could show the world how it's done!!! Couldn't we?

You'd have to put your name down for the team candidate's selection list then get chosen and then we'd still have to persuade Ferrari ,,, you know there's a lot to F1.

It’s not just Ferrari.

Red Bull (and Torro Rosso), Toyota and BMW have said that they may pull out if the rule change goes ahead. Mercedez-Benz have said the same, which would leave McLaren, Force India and Brawn GP to find new engine suppliers.

Ferrari have said that if they call it quits, they’ll put their energies into Le Mans racing instead.

There are lots of less well-off organisations talking about forming F1 teams to start racing if the finance caps do come in. Aston Martin, Lola, and two American teams (Penske and Andretti Green) are talking about jumping from Kart/Indycar to F1 if budgets drop.
