It's actually more involved than it looks. You need the front, & the bar behind it, the revised fog/driving lights & indicators, the badge panel & headlight covers. Also the wings need to be changed or reshaped to accept the front.
The fog/driving lights alone are circa 200 quid each.

Hi Dann,

£300  I see you're half in Bournemouth - why don't you come along to a Southern Region club night? They'll be plenty of 944 owners to chat to. See here for details:

I wouldn't have anything to do with them if I were you. Get an original one from a breakers or ebay. Quality is totally different. But you will have to be on a classic policy & inform them of the modification or it could void your insurance. Shouldn't be a problem so long as you tell them. You can get replica lights cheaper but I don't know how well they fit. :)

Yeah the car was up for a thousand, there was a few problems with it, ie: dirty interior, moss, no fluids etc but after a good clean and a service it came out very well

also do porsches use oil? if not what would be the cause of this?

i'm back in bournemouth in a few weeks so i may rock up, i'l have a look at the link later.

Dann

Have you considered using your budget to return the car to how it was meant to be? It would be worth more and get more praise as an 'original spec' car than something you bodge together to 'make your own' - that's what teenagers do with Vauxhalls. You said you wanted to restore it, but if you're adding a later type front end on it you're not really 'restoring' it, you're modifying it, which, like somebody said, may also affect your insurance as well as spoil the car. You can stick as many S2 / Turbo bits on as you like, but it'll never be an S2 / Turbo - and you'll forever be explaining what you've done to it.

Keep it original.

I'll put all the above in a shorter easier to understand sentence -

It's like women with false boobs, it's just a modification - everyone knows real ones are best. Shall we have a vote?

Firstly mine is heavily modified it's a late Lux with S2 front & rear spoilers & D90 wheels & when I get off my ar5e it'll have a modded S2 engine & box as well. It'll change colour when it gets repainted as well probably to a much brighter white than Alpine. I don't buy the originality thing & never have, make it what you want it to be & don't care what others think & mine is a Cat C so has bu99er all value anyway.
Not convinced by the Club autosport one as it looks weird with Lux wings but each to his own. Anyway if someone really wanted to they could revert back to standard as nothing is permanent.

If you keep hunting on E Bay & the forums the bits to convert start coming up, like lights & indicators.

Yes you're right Jim, my posting may have sounded a bit harsh, but had I put my usual 'each to his own' disclaimer in then it would have softened it a bit.

So each to his own, and my own is original - but then again as it's an S2 it already has all the bits on it that everybody seems to want to upgrade to, including the 968 bridge spoiler fitted to the run-off models. I might just go to a 968 roof mount aerial.

And to be honest, when I get round to having the bodywork fixed up it will probably end up with a non-original paint job..... now where's that April '76 Custom Car mag

Mine is fairly standard. Well thats what I thought when I bought it. The Insurance said it was heavily modified! Club sport steering wheel. 968 spoiler. Turbo rear valence, Colour keyed dash, Boxster S alloys, Then I got it & started on the engine because it wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. These aren't worth anything anyway. They were too well made & there are too many left. So why not make it what you like! So long as you enjoy it thats the key.

Cool thanks man,

do i need to change the whole lighting system or just the covers?

and

is the front impact bar the same in both cars?

Cheese
