944S2 Dansk exhaust prices

As per my other thread, I said I would put up how much and where from for a Dansk rear box, part number 944 111 041 03. All prices include vat and delivery but are before any discounts.

Porsche original £1055 - well you've got to ask!

Euro Car Parts £168
GSF claim they don't do it, although they were very helpful.

I'll go to ECP, they gave me a considerable discount on my front discs last month, just because I asked.

ECP have also offered me a IMASAF (Italian) rear box for £129 + vat, so £148. There normal price is £157 + vat, but if you ask they just give you discount. I have also asked about an ABS sensor - £37 + vat, which is a very good price, should be £44 + vat. You've just got to ask for discount.

Any views on IMASAF?

According to the IMASAF website and catalogue they do not make an exhaust for Porsche so I can only presume it is a universal unit, see link to webpage and catalogue http://www.imasaf.com/IMS_CatHP_2008.pdf

No it's not in that catalogue, but ECP said the Dansk (which they have none available) part number cross referred to the IMASAF one. Also GSF told me the same yesterday. I'll see what it looks like in the morning, and if it isn't suitable I'll leave it. The good thing about ECP is that they take no money from you until you take the part away.

As for getting discount, I use the one in Manchester, tel 0161 877 8880. Maybe you could do your ordering through them and ask if you can pick the parts up at your local depot. The guy at Manchester said that he is being transferred to a new branch opening in St Helens and that he will discuss giving club discount when he moves there. One tip is to point out that if you had ordered the part on the internet the postage is free - so they have leeway there to reduce the price. Also smile, wink, and if you're wearing shorts... show a bit of thigh, well you never know......

Went to collect this morning....... but it hadn't arrived. Turns out the 'new boy' had ordered it from the Wembley branch, but seeing as they didn't have any they couldn't send one up. While I was there the manager came out and telephoned Newcastle branch who actually have the only Dansk (yes Dansk not IMASAF) in their system. It will be here on Tuesday morning. So I am now getting a Dansk rear box for £148 inclusive of vat.

I'll put the discount info the manager agreed to for us on another thread.

I know it should be Dansk, and was getting a bit nervy about getting something none of you recommended. I am a whole lot happier now.
