Hi all. The horn in my S2 is not working, not sure it has since I have owned it. I have:
- checked the fuse with the tester in the fuse box
- swapped the horn relay over with one of the others with the same part number
- checked the wire under the steering wheel center pad

None of this worked. Where about roughly is the horn? I cant see it. Does anyone have any other ideas I could try?

Cheers
Mike

Could be the ground to steering column, try a temp ground.
The horns on a lux are on the near side near the bottom of the bumper.

Sorry to be stupid but, how would I do a temp ground?

Also can you confirm, is this the horn?

Just take a wire from any ground point or even the door strap and connect it to any part of the steering column itself that is bare metal not painted.
The s2 may be different but here is a pic of the horns on my lux. The picture is taken from under the nearside front bumper.

Thank you James. You were spot on with the ground to steering column. Looks like I caused this a couple of weeks ago when I was playing around. I spotted a copper plate at the back of the steering wheel that was making an annoying rubbing noise when I turn the wheel. Looked like it was bent out of place so I pinned it back with a small dot of glue. I guess this is the ground for the steering column. I have put it back the way it was and the horn now works. Annoying rubbing noise is back! I guess I need the horn so will live with it.

Cheers,
Mike

A little grease may get rid of the rubbing noise. When I fitted a new Club Sport wheel to the 968 it also made a rubbing noise which hadn't been there before. A blob of grease fixed the problem and it hasn't returned.
