Help, I have bent all 16v on my 1988 944s. I am been quoted anything from £30 to £70 per valve, does anyone know where I can get them cheaper.

I am also going to replace the water pump, again any ideas where to get a reasonably priced one from.

Thanks

Grazza

There are two companies in the US EBS & Zimm which seem to do some parts cheaper. Given the stronger dollar it may not be so advantageous these days. Also try EMC up in Birmingham they do lots of Porsche work so may well have a source. One of my group sourced a good recon S2 head for less than the cost of the bits from them.

You could try Steve at Oldham engine center. He got valves for mine for less than £10ea. But yours will be different. There the same size as somthing else but he wouldnt say what. He will either be able to source them or not. If he can then he will recon your complete head with new guides & machine it all up. & get you a gasket set. Though with all 16 I think a second hand head may be the way to go. Porsche apart etc.

Just bought 16 from Coventry metal and boring exhaust £8.40 each and inlet at £7.30 each plus the dreaded. 0247 6672372
I'm doing the same job at the moment, we should compare notes. Have you seen the genuine manual about shimming the valve springs?
Did you damage the cams, tentioner and rip part of the head off? I may have a supplier of repaired cam shafts. Will know next week.
