Can anybody tell me if all 944 cars have the same headlight assy ? I have a 1991, 944 S2
and its had problems with the headlights since I got the car. So this weekend I decided to sort it out. On stripping the lamps down I am amazed that it passed it,s last MOT. So many parts are corroded or missing its a wonder the lamps stay in the housings. I am thinking about buying some second-hand units off Ebay to use for the refurbishment of my lamps. So hence the question.
Thanks in advance.

944 S2/turbo headlamps are NOT the same as the other 944 models. The S2/Turbos have electronic adjustment, and the depth of the brackets are also different. And guess what? They are also more expensive. (New, or used.)

That isnt really accurate. 924s, 924Ss, series one 944s and series two 944s up until 1988 all use a simple Golf/Beetle lamp. Adjusters were incorporated for the 1988 model year onwards and the same lamps were used in 2.5l/2.7l cars along with S2s and Turbos.
