Hi everyone, newbie here.

Im currently starting a tentative search for a 944. However, aside from looking at them as they drive along, its occurred to me that ive never sat inside one, let alone driven one!

So, before i place a for sale ad for my current toy, id like a good look round and a chance to have a play around in one.

Rather than muck about a private seller, or bother a dealer, is there anyone around the North Essex area who wouldn't mind taking an hour to show me around there's? Would be perfectly willing to travel a bit.

Thanks!

Matt

Welcome to the forums Matt. I'd gladly show you round mine, but I'm a bit far away. I'm sure someone local will be along in a minute...

Hi, Matt
I am in Leigh on sea if that's any use. Also the car will be off SORN on 1st May.

Or come over the water to Kent, I'm in Chatham. Bruce will be closer though.
You could come to one of our meets we normally have a few 944s there.

Also have a read here Barry has written a buyers guide for the 944 which is very good. http://www.hartech.org/

Thanks guys.

I had a 'Doh!' moment this morning where i thought 'why don't i just go to a meet?'

Probably be the best way to see all the models too.

Ive been digesting every buyers guide i can get my hands on, but nothing compares to having a bit of hands on.

Is the south east meet the most local to me?

Hi Matt,

I'm new to the 944 myself, I just got my one last Wednesday, we live in Hatfield Peverel, between Chelmsford and Colchetser, you are welcome to come and have a look if you like.

Regards

Mike :)

Just a quick note to say a big thanks to Mike, for letting me have a poke around (and a drive!) of his 944 - really cemented the notion that i need one of these!

BTW, Mike, did i see you on the Braintree Road on Saturday? Was taking someone for a test of the MR2 and saw a 944, if it wasn't yours your 944 has a twin!

Hi Matt,

That was us on Saturday, I did a quick wave.

Hope your MR2 goes to a good home, it looked like a pukka machine.

Mike
