Hi have taken the winer mechanism out the car and remove the motor...it seems to have seized up...should you be able to rotate the drive cog by hand?

Hi all,

Well, finally got round to fixing my door handle, the good news is that it is possible to re-build the handle form the older handles. The bad news is that its a serious pita, but at least its saved me some serious wedge. I also changed the lock, as it looked as if someone previously had had a go at it with a screwdriver. The good news here is that its possible to swap over the lock slides so the new lock fits the original key. So apart from a few swear words and skinned knuckles I'm pretty pleased with myself :D
