Right, after being off the road for almost a year I've decided I can't stand it any longer and must get my 944 back on the road. (Aiming for May)

So first things first...M.O.T. to find out what might need fixing. Here's the rap sheet...

...Front & rear indicators incorrect colour.
Rear stop lamps not in good working order.
Rear brake pipe corroded.
Rear parking brake recording little effort.
Rear brake appliction uneven.
Parking brake efficiency below requirements.

So, I've got a little bit of work to do before it gets a pass. Not to bad though.

Driving it for the 1st time in a year was great. :D Oh the power, the smoothness, the quietness, the tramlining (er). :?

Handbrake issues are to be expected, it is quite heavy the handrake diameter is small & even working properly it ain't fantastic.
What's the indicator issue? Have the bulbs/covers faded?
The stop light will be corrosion of the holder & bulb, I had this on mine last year, new bulb, cleaned all the light connectors then OK.

Clear lenses and silver/amber bulbs is why the indicators failed. (I usually change them back to the amber lenses before taking it for the m.o.t.).

I think the brake lights is because it has l.e.d. bulbs fitted. (Very directional).

Pork handbrakes just arn't very good. As jim say it's a bit small for the car. Testers who know this understand. It's a good idea to pick your test station carefully! Great your putting it back on the road 8) Hope to see it/you at Gaydon.

Yeah, I think he was right to fail it all the same. Before moving off from the testing station, I tried it and it was sh*t. Hopefully I'll get away with just adjusting it.

You must believe in Father Xmas as well  , I've never heard of an MOT failed 944 handbrake being "Adjusted" & passing  . All seem to be strip the damn thing down & rebuild it
