hi all

has anyone ever had the oil seal on the oil filter get pushed out the side, this made it drop its oil all over the floor.

the filter is not that old and is a posrche one, but on the porsche oil filter the o ring is not as deep as the fram one i took off.

i have now got a k&n one and the o ring is deeper than the porsche one, its like the fram one.

Mine had a Pork one on when I bought it, but my local factors & Bert at Berlyn always do Mann which is Porsche OEM. Never had a problem, the only time I've had that happen is when I changed a filter & the original ring stuck to the block, that plus a new one meant when the throttle was blipped it was a leak like the Torrey Cannon! I find the Pork one easier to do with the cap like tool which is a Porsche/Merc one & was around a fiver & also pop the headlights up as it gives a lot more room to get the filter out.

2 things will cause that

1 badly fitted filter

2 Excessive oil pressure
