Hi, I have finally got around to removing the seats from my 89 Carrera to tackle a problem which has become irritating; both seats are electric and they have both developed an issue where one has stopped raising the front part of the seat and the other the back.
When the switches are pressed they are all trying to do something.
Has anybody come across this problem themselves and been able to resolve it? I would be grateful for any assistance or advice.
With thanks in advance,
James

Re: Electric Seats Need Attention
My '89 944 s2 has seats that work when they feel like it. I've had the switches to pieces and greased them up, that didn't help. I think it may be the brushes on the motors, I'll pull the seats out again and clean the motors up at some point.
Not much help I'm afraid.

A measley £4500 where my 944 S2 Cab used to be...

I believe that the motor drives a square or hex piece to engage the seat mech & these wear & seize. I'm not sure if they are available as a spare, but a strip & lube would be first on the list.
