Hi Kevin

I found the Meguiars Carpet Cleaner very good on my black carpets - certainly got a lot of dirt out, freshened the car up and restored the pile. Worth a try before you go to the expense of replacing the carpets.

If you have to replace the carpets try someone like Southbound Trimmers

Good luck with it :D

Paul

Hello, My carpet are cream & looked pretty nasty. Had them cleaned by a professional valeter for £20. They are really pretty decent now. I didn't think they would clean as they had so much oil on them. But they cleaned in car by just spraying some magic stuff on them! If there really bad & you take them out & pressure hose is the next step up. A new set of mats covers the worst areas. If you still don't like them then you will need new ones but I'd try cleaning first.

The carpet in a 911 is glued into place and is a pain to remove/refit. And is made up of lots ov small bits, allmost impossible to find good secondhand.
Try to clean it up.

I'd also add that most aftermarket carpet doesn't look as good as the original & certainly don't fit as well. So always stick with the original if you can.

Hi Kevin,

If you would like to go the profession cleaning route

Just let me know what area you are based in and I will advise on a reputable valeter/detailer in your area.

Regards
Dave

Hi Dave,

Any thoughts on my "dye" problem yet?

Hi Simon,

None at all and i have asked around.

Being a white/cream carpet the fibre pigments have changed to blue, we have to work out how to get them white again.

Have you previously tried cleaning it at all, If yes which products did you use and did any of the blue dye come out.

Sorry to hijack this post.

Regards
Dave

Also sorry for hijacking someone elses thread

The only thing I have tried so far is Ambersil Groom, which is generally my weapon of joice when it comes to cleaning marks of the upholstery and carpets on my cars, but it had no effect and I'm pretty certain that none of the blue came off.
