Looking for advice regarding fitting a twin exhaust system to my 86 944 lux,has one done this or know of anyone who manufactures such an item? Have seen on the net a photo of the additional tail pipe running through cut out of slotted rear valance.

regards Wayne

Don't know why you'd want to do it. The single system is quite efficient especially if replaced by a Dansk or similar. Twin systems are normally used where you can't get enough silencing on a single pipe or if you have twin banks such as V8.

Unless properly designed & dyno tested it could cost you HP. Only seen one on a spiecal turbo to comply with noise regs i think. Lindsey racing customer cars if i'm right. The Dansk will give you at least 5 horses if you adjust the mixture to match. Tested mine before & after. Sounds fantastic as well. 8)

I fear that the OP means a nasty PoS similar to that seen on Citroen Saxos and other Lax Power specials. Id suggest speaking to ExhaustsUK in Sheffield: tat like this is their daily fayre...

I think thats a bit harsh.

I suspect the OP means something similar to this one which is available for the S2 and turbo

I toyed with the idea of getting an S slotted valance and putting two twins in it like the late M3s.
There is a chain of places that will do made to measure systems to your spec, like the rather caustic 944 man says quite popular withe the rice crowd but if you want something bespoke and cheap they're pretty good. they made one up for my Celica GT4 for £400. They did a system for my mates Subaru Legacy and when it was too boomy on the motorway they fitted another silencer in it for free.

Somthing like this

Not sure what this is about! No silencers. Left one is a 4" exhaust. Wish mine looked like this underneath!

The small pipe might be straight off the waste gate if it's a turbo.

I agree. Its unusual to have a full car-length pipe though: with a short 'screamer' being far more common...
