Anyone cracked the problem of child/baby seats in a 944? Bit over 12 months ago so numpty in Brussels changed the law on baby seats. Now they all have to face backwards. So that rules out the back seats. Front seats the smallest one I can find the belt won't go round it. Then were does the wife go. The roof perhaps  After 3 months or when it's a bit heavier it can face forwards. But the seats are even bigger. All designed for Volvos. This is serious. I may have to sell my '44  Porsche shop sell this stuff but they don't answer the phone. If I drive all the way down there you bet there won't be anyone that knows anything. Tried Halfrauds & Mamas to no avail. Beginning to panic. Do I have to swap my '44 for a T5?
What if I completely remove the back seats. Will an Isofix base bolt in????
Maybe I should keep the '44 & use taxi's. Where no child seat is necessary :? This is mad.

Its a shame you can't make your own. :( I'd trust my own 5 point harness in a 924/44 rear seat over any generic child seat, no matter what approval numbers it might have stuck to the side of it.

Thanks. But whilst this means I can travel with baby. It doesn't help with where to put Mrs JJ! The back seats arn't much fun. I can't even sit in them I've tried. The smallest car seat only fits in the front. And then only for 3 months. After that there all too big. :(
I could just buy a run about. (Cheaper than giving my '44 away.) But only have parking for one car. Storage looks like being very expensive. The '44 won't be any use until the child is old enough to manage with a booster seat. So probably 4 yrs. As a second car it wouldn't matter but this is my daily drive!

I regularly take Jess (2 3/4) out in my car without a seat. Bear in mind though i do have recaro buckets and she is more than safe in the 6 point schroth harnesses and i'd argue that with any police officer.

Probably when 2 the standard rear seat will be fine. They are purpose designed child seats. But thats two years away! Can I really store it for that long & buy somthing else???

Due in Feb' sometime. Decided a while ago to stick with the '44 as it's so near sorted now. Somehow forgot to see if a car seat would fit. (Well it's got 4 seats.) Mrs JJ is not impressed. She will be less impressed when she finds out what I'm likely to get for it......... :blackeye: Hooned it a bit on the way back. A 330 thingy thought it could stay with me through the bends. Nearly ended up in a wall

rent a lockup, and buy a shitty hatchback.. there are hidden upsides to this plan

1) all the extra "baby crap" can get stuffed in the lockup too ! leaving your house in a liveable state
2) when you need to escape for a few hours you'll have somewhere legitimate to go that isnt "out"
3) pick your shitty hatchback wisely, insure it as your main car with the 944 tacked on, and your insurance will be less than it is now

but mainly...

it reduces the chances of your '44 smelling of puke to almost nil !

mates mrs made him give up his RSturbo cabrio when the twins arrived.. he got a mondeo estate and fitted the most ridiculous wheels and bodykit on it just to get her back.

sadly, an own goal.. she wont get in it .. he has to do the shopping.

Didn't Gazza944 manage to sort something out restraint-wise when his ankle biter arrived?

Like that. Been looking for a lock up for some time. Too many terraces around here so there expensive & they get broken into alot. My mate has a double garage with a Westfield in it that I drive more than he does. Might do somthing there.
Just bought a carry cot on ebay that complys with ECE R44/03 to 10kg. Whatever that means. Since it's flat it should lie across the backseats. Think they may need modifying a bit though. Not sure the plods would like me just folding them down! See how it fits when it comes.
Cheers guys for the laugh! There has to be a way. ....

Just seen the news with fields full of unsold new cars. Why did they keep making them? Nuts.
