For those who don't know, Wythenshawe, near Manchester Airport, used to be the biggest council estate in Europe. I've been going there for nearly twenty years now without any problems, except that I can still get lost in there - it's so big. Despite what people say, there are a lot of nice people there, but the place is tarnished as ever by the minority.

Last thursday night I was parked outside a client's house whilst inside discussing what to do about his mortgage and his debts to get the monthly costs down. I was parked on the road in the same place I always park, the client's Vectra was in front, his wife's Focus was behind.

Unknown to us, whilst I was in the house some mindless yob threw a triangular shaped piece of paving slab, 5"x3"x2" (yes I measured it), with force into the centre of the bonnet making two deep grooves, then the stone went up the windscreen and has made four gouges in the glass. I left there at 8 pm, and didn't notice until I parked on my drive at home. I thought it was bird poo because it was white, but could have cried when I realised what it actually was. On the Friday I went back in the daylight and found the piece of slab, complete with Cobalt Blue corners, about twenty feet away from where I was parked, such was the force of the throw.

There is absolutely no reason for the vandalism other than jealousy and envy. They don't see a 17 year old car, they just see a shiny Porsche. It just makes you sick that this type of scumbag are out there, and of course I am very reluctant to go back into Wythenshawe now.

I reported it to the Police, in case there was any CCTV. They wanted to know how old I was, "What's my age got to do with it?" I asked, and declined to answer, and what my ethnic background was "What's my colour got to do with it?" I asked. However, and this is true, I did say "I will admit to being a single parent gay lesbian Asian in the hope that you will give me a better service". I told her I was fed up of the way this country's going, and the woman actually agreed with me, but I did advise her not to comment so she wouldn't get in trouble.

If I knew how to I would post pictures.

John

Really sorry to hear about this.
It could've happened anywhere I'm afraid.

Will you claim on insurance ?

sorry to hear about this. I know its hard but you have to get it fixed under isnurance and move. If you dwell on it too much then they win.

Now I know why I go to Manchester on the train & get the salesman to pick me up!

Is it on classic insurance John? I'd look at the excess & get it fixed.

i remember reading about a guy many years ago who had a cossie which was constantly being stolen. So the guy wired the door handle up to the mains. Some twat then tried to steal and got electrocuted and manged to successfully prosecute the owner.

No question was ever asked why he was trying to steal the bloody car.

Typical

Awful. Sure they did'nt even spot it was a Porsche. It was shiney & that would be enough. Had a Fiat Seicento scraped by similar vandals once. Cheapest car you can buy. But there too ignorant to know that. Find a good body shop & get anything else it needs done at the same time then you won't feel so bad when you get it back.

Sorry to hear this John, it's a common tale on here with the mindless numbnuts causing damage out of envy.
