my 7 year old has set his heart on a PS3 for xmas, so after a troll around t'interweb decided on a 160gb consol. trolled around the shops online only to find all sold out only 80gb avaliable ! did find some on amazon for £600, so did a few shops today, game, gamestation, john lewis etc all sold out, popped into my local curry's only to be asked how many do you want, i've got 28 in stock !!

I don't see why 160GB would be necessary. 80GB should be sufficient shirley?

I've had a 40gb for about 2 years and it's more than sufficient.

Fantastic bit of kit for bluray dvd playback with my home cinema.

It's very easy to swap the internal hard drive if required.

We got one for the blu-ray experience too but I've been really impressed with the machine and have probably spend more time gaming than watching vids

o/t those fooking BDs are £££ so we normally rent 'em out instead :)

I agree, I started playing Call of Duty online, very sad.

We rent blurays from tesco off the net, but the machine makes a very good fist of upscaling normal ones too.

Looks fantastic on my projector in 1080p

Only play games on PC. Consoles are cheap. (Except 160gb ones  ) But the games are big money. Isn't blueray just a con to get you to rebuy your DVD collection? (Only just got rid of my videos  )

Sonys European site has just reduced the 40 and 80 gb to 250 and 260 respectivly.

I have a 40gb one and serves me well.
