Yep, as Jim suggests I'm talking oval dash cars. My response was really to Pete G's post that in his S2 the headlights work in line with the screen as I haven't seen that on a 944 before.

Sorry Fen, works via the screen washer stalk (not in line) but only if on dip or high beam and your right you push the stalk towards the dash

Well it seems as if the headlight pump is working when the headlights are on (as all lights dim a lot) but after removing the bumper I discovered that not a lot is left of the system and the pump even has some sealant in the hole to stop it leaking. May call it a day on that one and pick it up again later if the opportunity arises.

Whilst taking my bumper off I realised that it's not the standard item but seems to be a glass fibre copy. This isn't much of a problem but nont of the screw holes for the lights in the bumper are up to much and the main holes for mounting the bumper don't even line up! Will have to keep an eye out on ebay to see if any pop up for cheap. Think I'll go back to trying to get the engine running for now.

I have all the pipes and a good bottle and headlight washer pump. Pipes are well weathered though. Not pretty but seem to be clear.

Cheers for looking but I'm going to have to rethink this. Don't suppose you have a front bumper to offer? ;)

I've got a silver one but it's got a couple of cracks.
It's on this one:

Looks a better fit than mine, where are the cracks out of interest?

By the indicators if I remember right. Both sides too.
My white one has the same cracks and they don't bother me.
As it needs painting to match your car you could sort them easily enough
Spot the cracks
