Ooh, I just noticed that Berlyn services is just down the road from where I need to go on saturday morning, might go and have a snoop if the OH doesn't kick up too much of a fuss.

I notice you are in Devon.

Bert at Berlyn 'used' to be in Devon too, but he relocated to North Wales a while back.

Just trying to save you a journey to his empty shed :)

Has he gone back to Devon,it has the Ilfracobe address on his website again?

£130! Where from?

A regular eBay vendor. I paid £119 + delivery for mine a while back. I will contact them directly (their user name escapes me but their actual names are Anne & Tony Watson (annantone perhaps?)). Theyre based in Iom but the parts come from a distributor in Birmingham (who wont deal direct...).

In that case I'll drop him an email and remind him the address on his website needs an update ;)

You could try this one from eBay 230306598325 up to £35 with 2 plus hours to go, back box only.
Or the place talked about previously Annantone have this one for sale not stated as Dansk though 370105989408 going for £148 or best offer but only rear box. Then you will need the first box plus gaskets so not quite £130. Obviously someone doesn't like Powerflow so I wont mention it again.

She has put her prices up, so theres no reason at all not to buy a similar Dansk part from Bert Gear. I certainly didnt say that the complete system only cost £130 though. That said; the downpipe will ast for ever and the resonator is cheap to replace.

I dont like Powerflow, because theyre rubbish: dont take my word for it though, search the internet.

Looking more carefully at the listing, she has changed from a bid-up auction to a buy it now or best offer. If you offer the old starting price then Im confident that she will accept it.

They must have sold dozens of Dansk boxes by now as there is always one on there from them. I got mine at the old price about three years ago, it is still super shiny and very well made - I definatley recommend them. This is not the exhaust to choose if you want a noisier fruitier sound, it is a standard replacement and is perfect IMHO :)

Mines a fair bit louder actually Paul. When it was first fitted it was very quiet, but it soon bedded in the next afternoon on the Bruntingthorpe straight...

I have the 'advantage' of polycarbonate rear window and no carpet in the boot area, so I can hear it more clearly. Even wih the glass hatch fitted you could hear it relatively clearly aboce 3,000rpm. With the plastic hatch fitted now Im re-considering my original plan to have the resonator removed. Static tests wont concern me too much, but under load I might struggle to pass a drive-by...

True. I've also often wondered if my old box was really noisy because it had rust holes in the tailpiece and 110000 miles to blow out any internal muffling. Then the new Dansk one sounded so much quieter :)
