It looks like it should be fitted, but to be honest I would forget about it, most of the time the lamps are closed and should not get covered in crap, unless you are going to drive 1000,s of mile with them switched on

I don't know about the Lux, but it was standard on the UK Turbo and S2, but not on some European S2s at the very least as I had a German one with blanks in the bumper - just like the blanks I bought from an OPC to fit to my Turbo when I threw the system away as it's worthless.

Is your car UK spec? "Lux" is actually not an official Porsche name and is a shortening of "luxury" which was a pack all UK cars had as standard. The model was a 944 with luxury pack from the Porsche perspective and the 944 without luxury pack was available in LHD markets.

If only I had any of those. It does have the headlight washer switch though

The headlight washers work inline with the screen wash, its only when you have the lights up and on the headlight wash works, but I have to agree there not worth it unless you are doing a lot of miles in the dark plus it makes a mess of your clean paint work.

The headlight washers work by pushing the washer stalk away from you whereas the screen washers work by pulling it toward you on all the 944s I have had with washers.

So what's the switch on the centre console for then? It has a picture of a headlight and a little spray on it?

Might try and recover the missing parts oneday if I happen to come across a car being broken with the parts on it but I don't think I'll worry about it for the moment

Different between pre and post 85.5 cars? My two post 85.5 definitely work as Fen states.

Yep, as Jim suggests I'm talking oval dash cars. My response was really to Pete G's post that in his S2 the headlights work in line with the screen as I haven't seen that on a 944 before.

That would be great, cheers. Not sure what parts I need yet, going to pull the front bumper off and see what is back there this weekend.

Do you happen to have the windscreen washer parts too? Mine has some feeble little washer pump and I'd like to return it to the original item if possible (I'm fussy like that)

Oh well, do you at least have all the original pipes for the washer pump? Mine simply has one pipe leading to the aftermarket pump instead of the ones that lead all over the place. Jets on mine are fine so you're safe there ;)
