Re: 944 S2 Repair
I'm thinking about using my old KLA alloy brace between the castor mounts. Not sure it needs to be too beefy there on a road car.

Re: 944 S2 Repair
Paul I see your questions about rear brace on PCGB .
It does not attach to the body but cantilevers the exhaust from the gearbox . I needed this as the rear floor has been cut away in the 924 .
You could modify one as it already has gearbox attachment which I thought about to brace gearbox . But I was concerned about the stress put on the flange of the gearbox .
It would be better to attach a brace at another point on the gearbox in my opinion .

Re: 944 S2 Repair
Thanks Simon, I guess if mounted to the shell it could transmit some noise too.

Re: 944 S2 Repair
Ecu has finally arrived back from Peep so hopefully can move forward .
Panels have been painted just the rear shell to do but might try firing her up first maybe the weekend before the shell goes off to be painted .
I also had a little trip to the sun in Rhodes and saw this lovely red 944 with working sunroof mind you if you look closely at the sills it is the same old story even in the sunshine . Not sure on the architecture eit
Of course I get bored quite quickly on holiday and revert to flicking through ebay . The trouble is something always catches your eye and the cheap holiday suddenly becomes a bit more expensive .
6.0L V8 aluminium block LS2 with ITB and running full dry sump pan , came with a bellhousing adapter for a porsche 911 gearbox . The gentleman I picked it up from had it as a test mule in a early Mclaren can-am style car but had uprated to a 650hp engine in 900kg !!! This engine I was led to believe is around 500 . If anyone has any conversion bits please let me know . That is next years project sorted .

Re: 944 S2 Repair
Originally I was looking for a rover v8 for my mates land rover which is how I stumbled over this .
To much for that but thinking about swapping it over in the 924 next year .
Engine mounts , bellhousing need to be changed and maybe pedal box but relatively straight forward .
Would be nice to compare .

Re: 944 S2 Repair
So you'll have a spare 16v turbo engine then?

Re: 944 S2 Repair
Yes ornaments, and garage/shed junk I bought with me when I moved house over 3 years ago. I've started thinning out the junk, and some of the ornaments need to be fitted to the car this year.

Re: 944 S2 Repair
I have decided to put the 944 up for sale so thought I would put it up here first before advertising elsewhere .
Its an 86 turbo with a very special Hartech 3L engine and lots of other bits you can read in the older posts .
Aiming to get it out the garage and put a new mot on it in the next few weeks .
Truthfully it has not been used much since putting together . Will put a list up soon of build .
Looking for low 20's which I doubt you could get the engine built for now .

Yes , I know Paul .
But its been sat in the garage so let someone else get some fun and lets me get on with the other one . I enjoy building them as much as driving them .

Re: 944 S2 Repair
Good luck with the sale, be a shame to see it move on. Hope you get what you want, well worth it imo.
Mine insured for nearly £30k now, but only worth what someone will pay and yours will be more fun to drive!
