84 944 cut out problem

HI I drove my 944 out of the garage and cleaned it, when driving it back in it cut out and would not restart, got a specialist in to check the electronics, He sent the ECU away to have it checked and it has been lost, the poor bloke died before He could finish the job, I have been unable to find the ECU, trying to source one is a nightmare, plenty on Ebay but are they good and which is the one fr my motor is difficult to ascertain ?
Anyone out there got any ideas ? Thanks JP

Hi

lets have some more information about the car,

year, model, engine type, chassis number,

these ECU very rarely go wrong unless abused like jump leads connected backwards, I would take a bet on the Crank Position Sensor either failed or bad connection

please provide more information and we can help you out with a part number

Hi thanks for your response. It's a 1984 2.5 944. Engine number WP0zzz 94zEN408740.
Since the last post we have acquired another ECU and someone with some know how is coming to try and sort it, any info would be a great help .thanks again...JP....

Ok so there is only one ECU for the GB 944 for 1984

944 618 111 03, is the current listing, so the original should end 00
