Yesterday the crossmember and the wishbones had a menage a trois with the wire wheel  They were then cleaned up with some panel wipe and treated to some etching primer.
Today, they had a rub down with the sporting life- I mean some fine grade wet & dry before the crossmember was treated to another dose of panel wipe and a good few coats of aluminium paint. I've decided to renew the bushes in the wishbones & considering it might be necessary to warm them a little to get the old ones out - and the new ones in for that matter, I deferred on painting these for another day. Managed to source the replacement bushes from Partworks.de eventually- kept running in to a few issues trying to order on their website so ordered via their eBay shop instead. Made up another pair of caliper link pipes but hampered to make any more due to lack of brake fittings.

 I've run out of short Male M10x1 ones. I've ordered them but they have not yet arrived.

Replaced the o/s wiper motor arm after 4 years with a temporary repair. took the opportunity to remove 30 yrs worth of dead leaves. Not as bad a job as I was anticipating, the motor and frame need a bit of manouvering to get out. I used a battery terminal puller to remove the arm from the center mount and a G-clamp and spacers to replace the arm. Lost a socket down the drain hole to the inner wing, must remeber to stuff a cloth in there first.

I remember doing that very job except I replaced both arms (sought from VW Heritage - even got a free pen!).
I cleaned up the heater intake/flaps etc and painted them.
What an accumulation of junk under there!

These are now a shocking price

Long 67.50
Short 53.00

Think I paid £11 for the long and £9 for the short brand new in 2014

Fitted the engine mounts to the crossmember and also test fitted the heat shield that adorns the R/H side. Found out that 1/3 of the heat shield below the exhaust manifold is AWOL and I'm going to have to buy the whole thing even though it is in about 3 pieces.
Cleaned up a load of nuts, bolts & washers now that I have finally fitted the wire wheel to the bench grinder. Considering getting a home plating kit as Porsche want £11.50 each for the engine mount washers that go underneath the crossmember!
Took the front bushing out of the passenger side wishbone- was surprisingly easy but was greeted with some nasty corrosion damage in the gap between the rubbers. Drivers side bushing is being an absolute Pig and is refusing to budge. Spent in excess of 2.5 hours so far trying to get that bugger out? Tomorrow is another day....
