Sorry Mark! Not been on here for a while.
The capacitor and resistor had gone on my speedo. Retro restorer have an instagram feed and you can see the actual bits they replaced on a post from 23rd November. There feed is here;

...and to answer your question yes, the speedo came back with the same mileage displayed as it was sent away with.
