997 Crank case

Post by sumpcracker »

I have just stripped my engine for liners, and I noticed there are no locating dowles from the crank cradle to block/crank case.

I am surprised to see this, I have assembled a few older M96 ones before and I am sure they were there.

Does anyone know if this is correct?
Surely without them the cradle is only clamped by the head bolts and could creep? (causing rms leaks, front crank seal issue or even a broken crank)

Pls help!

*forgot to say - gen 1 3.8. But I guess that was obvious as I said I was having liners fitted :)
