Hi Everyone,
Just picked up this 951. 1986 model year; 81k miles; last owner 29 years. Bought it in Preston, Lancs and drove it down to its new home in the New Forest this week. Will sit alongside my existing 993 Targa.

Re: Post your pride and joy here!
Hi all,
I bought my first 944 on Monday in Scotland, its a 1987 2.5 Lux model and has a linen leather 944 Turbo interior. It looks great but has a list of issues from sunroof woes, electric mirror not working to possible clutch replacement. And all of that is enough until on my way home a gentleman decided to pull in too quickly after overtaking me and thus some panel damage.
Not a great start to my 944 journey, after eventually getting the said gentleman to admit fault and agree to pay for the damage I got home but was unable to open the drivers door of my car which was sorted with some wd40!
The funny thing was that due to the damage I had to go look for a repairer asap and found a guy only 30 mins away who has restored a 944 completely for a client. He took a look at the damage and was 100 cheaper than the best quote before that but the best thing was he knew someone who could help with the mechanical issues going forward and also had a guy who could sort out the interior for me {previous owner had not installed the interior correctly}. All in making my life easier going forward as it was looking like I would have to travel 1.5 hrs to someone before that. Also he told me that the respray carried out on the car 4 yrs ago was very good and was a glass out job was spot on.
This all made me feel better about my purchase... So its onwards and upwards and with a little help from many sources I'll get this car back to its best!

Re: Post your pride and joy here!
That's a total bugger hope it all gets sorted. Are you in Scotland? If so where abouts? I'm just outside Falkirk and have owned several 944 and have done pretty much all the work on them and am now doing repair, maintenance, and servicing on other members cars as well. If you get stuck or need some advice / help PM me and i'll give you my contact details.MarkIre wrote:Hi all,
