Pershore Plum Festival

Post by stratfordshark »

Great convoy down the M5 and a glorious show despite the queue to enter. Pleasure to finally catch up with familiar and new TIPEC friends.

A nice mix of cars, good to see your V8 taking centre stage in the display :)

Hi Briggy sorry you missed this - it's a lovely event with the whole town involved and a huge show in Abbey grounds.

It's a regular Central event, so has been on their calendar published on the forum and in All Torque since beginning of year. But of course as with all TIPEC regional events was open to members from any region who would have been made very welcome. Hope you can make it next year.

All the best

You may be unlucky, the car event organiser is becoming disenchanted with the aggravation from the locals and is considering giving up.

Despite the size of the event (over 1500 cars were thought to be there), not many Porsche and only 2 924's, my Le Mans with my local classic car club and the 924S that was in your group.

I was admiring your lovely and rare Le Mans parked nearer the abbey! From distance thought it was a Martini.

The event seems to have grown a lot in the four years since I first attended. Certainly we've never experienced such a queue to get in, so I can imagine local grumbling.

It must be very inconvenient for them, but it is one day only, a popular part of a week long festival, and it puts the town on the map (I never knew it was such a picturesque place before attending first show there - have returned several times outside of the festival).
