My car is Alpine White from what I can understand so I purchased some paint and lacquer in rattle cans. The paint seems to be a good match for the paint colour that is under the original lacquer however I have noticed that the new lacquer is perfectly clear but the old lacquer on the car has obviously over time gone creamy/yellow. Is there any way around this apart from getting a paint colour mixed up to match the colour of the car rather than the original paint code?

I'm interested in this as I have a '82 alpine white 924 and while sorting out some of the paintwork I've had problems getting the paint to match. For most people looking they think it looks fine but there's a difference in shade that I can clearly notice.

Where did you get the rattle cans from?

Thanks

these cars were painted with old style 2k paint, it does not require lacquer, the gloss is built into the paint.

cheers
