Speaking of the post on 911UK, it might be worth updating the first post with the details, save people having to read all of the thread.

Feel free o sign up - it should be a good way to keep communications going between group members.
Cheers all and hope to see you on March 1st.

Jim - good luck with the region
Facebook is a good idea but can I suggest you copy and paste details of events and meetings onto this forum as well. There is a danger that if all the regions promote solely on Facebook any visitors to these forums think there is nothing happening in the club
all the best

It's only a couple of weeks until our first meet up so I thought I would float a couple of questions past you.
Firstly I'm interested in what activities you would like to participate in. Trackdays, weekend breakfast runs, evening tyre-kicking at a pub, road trips? Who's up for what?
Secondly, is anyone interested in lending a hand with the organisational side of things? Free time is always in short supply, especially at weekends so I would really appreciate some assistance with ideas, organisation etc. You don't have to jump in right away - come and have a chat on the 1st if that would help.
I want to make sure we all get something out of the club while keeping it friendly and open to everyone. All ideas are welcome.
Me:
Trackdays No thanks.
weekend breakfast runs Yes, definitely.
evening tyre-kicking at a pub Yes definitely.
road trips Absolutely.
I have some amazing Euro routes and Scottish ones on map and Tom/Tom/Garmin files - thanks to Jackal at 911uk who did the research and set up all the waypoints. Although to be honest, I am less likely to do a Euro one until I start to make a bit more money as they are quite an expensive way to spend the days. I quit my career a few years ago to set up a business and current earnings are not what they should be. I'd certainly be up for a long weekend in Scotland though.
I'd really like to help with the organisation but am too committed elsewhere at the moment. However, I am really looking forward to the meet, and hoping that this can become a regular group that gets together.
Karting can be fun too. Sutton in the Elms/Tamworth are good places.
Summer time breakfast runs are really good though.
Just a quick note to say that it was great to meet you all this evening and to offer many, many, many apologies to anyone that I didn't get to speak to.
It was great to get such a large turnout and to see such a variety of cars.
The next meeting will be Wednesday 5th April, at the same venue. I'll try and get something organised (Sunday breakfast run maybe?) before then. Please have a think about what you would like to get up to in 2017.
Many thanks to those from other regions that made the effort to come along and help kick start the region.
I'll speak to you in next couple of days Jim

It was a really good night, I enjoyed meeting so many new people and seeing all those stunning Porsches in the car park. The 1969 911 was the highlight for me but I do love the classics.
Good luck with everything going forward and i'm sure we'll have plenty of fun arranging meets for both regions during the warmer months while we get a bit of extra light in the evenings.
