I have just installed a replacement centre console tray in my 944 S2. But, just like the previous one it is very difficult to open. Is there a knack?
I usually gave it a hard squeeze with my left hand, with my thumb on the black tab, but since its new I don't want to break the hinge.

fingers on opposite side, thumb push very bottom of the tab inwards and lift. Very similar to opening a CD case.

Previous advice applies. The catch bracket on the inner frame could be causing the lift button to cause it being 'stuck'. Using slight use of a file to hone-off the edge off the frame catch edge might help.
