The PCGB lot do seem to be a little cliquey. especially if you own a 'poor mans Porsche'

Re: Silverstone Classic 2016
Great to see everyone over the weekend, many thanks to Gary, Glen, Lyndsey and especially
Jason for helping over the weekend. Jenny deserves a mention for boiling the kettle umpteen times to fill the pump pots with hot water.
Jason and I decided that we must do better after last years event and the new gazebo looked great. Tea and coffee flowed all weekend, until we ran out of milk mid afternoon
plenty of biscuits though to keep spirits up.
Members on the adjacent Mustang stand were bickering amongst themselves abouit our level of organisation and why they couldn't do the same.
Unusually our Scottish friends were out done by Gordon Finn and his family, they drove over from Switzerland.
Can someone post some pictures.

I would like to acknowledge the work put in for the Classic, the stand has really improved each year, this year with the added attraction of refreshments. Thanks to Jason and Sean and their assistants Gary, Glenn and anyone involved I missed on Saturday.

Re: Silverstone Classic 29/30/31 July 2016
Wow, What an event that was. Just home and was sorry to get back to my car and find out I was too late to thank all the team who were so welcoming and patient with not only my huge amount of often silly questions but also with my 2 little ones who were often rather tired and overawed from the walking and huge amount of things to see and do.
So to Jason, Sean and Glenn especially I thank you very much for your time and knowledge and to all the guys and girls I met whilst there, it was a pleasure to meet you all and I hope to see you all again at another meeting soon.
Lots to be sorted on my car after seeing some of the gleaming examples that my work in progress had the pleasure to be amongst and I'm sure it'll be closer to how it was 20 years ago after another year of work and no doubt, money being sunk into it.
Being part of TIPEC has opened my eyes to a lot not only with my car but also the social aspect, I'm enjoying my 944 more than I ever thought I would and it's not only down to the car.
Thank you all
Michael

Re: Silverstone Classic 29/30/31 July 2016
A great show this year. Many thanks to Sean and Jason for all the hard work it took for the club to be there.
Despite some fears that our location was a little bit “tucked away”, I think we saw significant numbers of visitors to the club stand. A number of them expressed interest in joining and we sold a good amount of club merchandise in the form of jackets, polo shirts and caps. Much of the attention we got had to be due to the pulling power of the new club gazebo which looked very impressive.
A big advantage of the pitch was that people could linger by the club tent and get a good view of the racing around Brooklands and Luffield corners.
The member's cars made a great display, artfully arranged by Sean, in a style which summed up our club; inclusive and informal looking rather than regimented.
I had a great time and enjoyed meeting with old friends as well as making some new ones. As always at these events, sometimes the meetings were too short with too many other things demanding attention.

It's hard to add much more, a great weekend spent with old and new friends
Thanks again to Gary and Glenn for helping to work out how to put up the new Gazebo. It will be so much easier next time
The top stays attached when you put it away, so it should be around 15 mins next time .
I must say that the new gazebo is just right, it gives us the club a more professional look but without looking like a corporate display.
Being able to offer our members and prospective new members a cuppa and a biscuit is really nice and far more social.
The new hot water containers were fab, we thought that the water would stay hot for 2 or 3 hours but it was still hot enough 8 hours later to brew tea.
There is a downside to having biscuits on the stand, I am now 4lbs heavier
We had a really good mix of cars, plenty of transaxles, some aircooled and a few of the newer watercooled, all artistically displayed by our head marshall Sean and not a clipboard in sight.
All in all, we had 3 great days, bring on next year

Sorry - no pics from me.
I arrived Sunday and the racing had started, so sprinted straight to the stands.
Many thanks though for the parking spot... I'll hang around longer and say hello next time

It was pretty cool to be able to park on the infield and drop off all the freebies to the boot to go and get more!
