..................

Hehehe... Told you guys i would have another one for you...

ALl the shows i have been to in the last few months have certainly opened my eyes a bit. And i have noticed some 944's with the air induction kits wether it ne HKS pipercross etc.
Right so here is the question. Should i stick with the orginal airbox, or replace it. ANd do any of the aftermarket airboxes add to the performance of these machines, which will be a big plus if i can do so?

Thanks in advance again guys if you can help

Sarah

I'm tempted by a BMC CDA myself. A friend of mine had one on his VR6 Corrado and sounded lovely, obviously being a VR6 helped that.

Not sure if they make one for the 2.5 8v engine or not though. Any body else got any idea?

Have i really got people thinking on this one. cool
but seriously i quite fancy a kit on mine, but if it doesnt do anything for the performance or anything then i will stick with the old box.

induction kits add 3-10 bhp (or so the manufacturers claim) and cost from £10 (off ebay) upto and over £100, downside is you have to tell insurance as classed as engine mod, so premium will probably increase

I kept the standard airbox with a k&n panel filter, but an induction kit will give more airflow and more noise. (I like noise!)
PS I have a turbo rear splitter on my white '85. Makes the back much tidier

That's the first decent picture I've seen with the two types side by side.
Certainly think the silver slotted valence looks pretty good.

Might have to re-think

A lot of induction kits actually reduce power as they breath hot air! Also aftermarket air filters can give poorer long term efficiency so may not be the gain you think!
The Danske exhuast made a substantial difference to mine & I'd deffo recommend it.

Agree with Jim. On the Dyno the stock box is best for N/A cars. You do get more noise but with less power. In racing usualy the nearside headlamp is removed to make an airbox with a vent were the headlight cover used to be. The Danske gave me 5hp full system. But only after messing with the fueling on the dyno. There are better ways to get more power. Mostly getting the engine back into as new condition! Not many of these produce anthing like what they had when new. :)

Thanks guys for your help and advice, after hearing what you have said i am gonna stick with the original airbox, and maybe invest in the filter but i can leave that till it next requires changing as the filter was new when i bought the car. and i will be looking into purchasing the slotted rear splitter if anyone is interested in selling one to me :D
