As the problem description says the interior linng is starting to peel each side of the interior at the rear and can be seen when the rear hatch is open. What make / type of adhesive can you guys suggest?

I would say any good contact adhesive will do the trick...that's what I'll be using when I get around to fixing a small part of the roof liner that's sagging by the rear hatch.....

You could also use an aerosol contact adhesive ie in situ just to do those small peeling spots. I replaced all my black plastic interior with proper leather a while back and just used the basic contact adhesive to do the job - works fine.

I have made a template for my headlining that I took off, the original material seems very brittle after 30 years and have found the correct material to create a new one and have made a template, I will use spray adhesive to fit the new one.
