Recently joined the forum, mine of help and info.....
Don't know if anyone's sourced a stainless exhaust system for a 2.7 auto, tried about but not sure if the Dansk system will fit, or if there any other moderately priced systems out there? Is there something different about the auto for exhaust purposes? Got a small hole in the middle box of the mild steel system that's on, been quoted £250 for a good second hand centre section fitted. Any good ideas ????????

There is a decent looking stainless steel exhaust for all non turbo 944s on ebay at £175 from memory.
I was toying with the idea of changing mine....

Early model year uses an S exhaust. Later cars use an S2 exhaust.

Are you talking about MIJ in Walsall in the West Midlands.

If so, I had a bespoke stainless steel exhaust made there for my replica 289 Cobra about 6 or 7 years ago and it was/is great. Last year I went back because I had a two broken mounts - the business had changed ownership but the new owners replaced the mount (which for simplicity did involve a smalll amount of welding) for a drink.

Regards

David

I fitted a stainless mid and rear section exhaust to my 2.7 but the back box has a twin port exit so not at all standard looking. It was some time ago but I'll dig out the receipt/details and post up a pic if this would be of any help?

You look on PET. Itll show both S and S2 exhausts and the VIN number </> for each.

That's good Largie, yes I did mean MIJ in Walsall. Spoke to them and they seem helpful. Custom build full (except manifold) for 550-600 depending on choices, ie end pipe etc. Custom build so you can choose the exhaust note. Sounds like the way forward. Rather than £850 for original Porsche centre section!!!!!!

Its a manual.

At the risk of getting shouted down; does this make any difference? *runs for cover*

Not to me! Just noticed some of the standard systems ie Dansk, seem to list exhausts for 2.7 manual only. Was wondering what the difference was, didn't want to order something that didn't fit if I go down the off the shelf route.... Like said I'm new to 944's. Think I'll talk to Mij and go down that road...

Good luck, hope it works out.
