I'm in need of a 1989 2.7 accelerator cable for a 944 automatic

Try Design911 or you local Official Porsche Center (OPC). Des911 where stocking the manual cable for £54.

tried porsche and they wanted £320 - £390 tried most of the breakers and they seem to be very elusive
might have to bite the bullet and fork out for a new one

I have a 2.7 auto too and had the same problem. After a lot of searching, finally managed to get a good used one from JMG (although still not fitted!)

I did later find that it might be possible to get it repaired if you take it off the car so it can be measured up etc

There are one or two items on the 2.7 esp autos which are a lot more expensive than manual 2.5's

cable is off and in pieces absolutely rotten outer casing no good either
