I have a few topics running as planning a complete build :)

The seats on my newly purchased car are rather tatty and either need a complete re-trim or replacements seats. I want to fit harnesses so seats with holes for a harness would remove the need for a harness bar (and still retain access to the rear) has anyone done this ? Keen to see what seats any of you have used ?

Thanks

Theres only one possible answer:

http://www.corbeau-seats.com/ClubSport

£300 for a pair including sidemounts. Nothing else can even come close!

Buy fat man width, sometimes discreetly referred to a 'GT'. :D

Good shout, although forgot to mention I want recliners so the back is still accessible, the only ones I have found are :

Id be very careful with seats like that. In order to be safe you need a bar running behind them to prevent their collapsing (same with any reclining seat), so youre going to struggle with rear seat access anyway.

Will the width of the rails/sliders fit the captive nuts in the floor?

I've been in contact with Corbeau about these after reading this thread as I fancy a pair of XL's for my car. I got them to send me the dimensions of the mounting bolt holes, which are as follows...

XL

Front to Rear - 28cm
Side to Side - 37.5cm

Std

Front to Rear - 28cm
Side to Side - 33.5cm

Both of which are much narrower than 944 seats so adapters would need to be made to bolt them up. Not a huge job since 944s are flat floor but i'd be very very interested to see photos/hear info from someone who has already fitted these or any other aftermarket seats as to how easy it is!

Usually narrower, which I believe has been confirmed in the post above this.

Adapt by fitting the side mounts to the factory mounting positions, using longer bolts and machined aluminium bobbin spacers. A simple hack for this would be to use aluminium rod cut to length with the centre drilled.

I wonder how much width you would gain if you mount the side mounts on the opposite sides. As in...

_I------I_ as opposed to I_------_I

Might email corbeau again to see if the can measure it up, they seemed to be pretty helpful before. Then even if you need bobbins they wouldn't be so big.

I used these mounts to get the correct width - you have plenty of options for configuration

No provision for sliders though

Sliders on the car and mounts on the sliders, surely?

Depends on the slider mechanism I guess - whether it works on one or both sliders, & whether it needs a fixed width. (Yes I'm sure they can be adapted)

The mounts I posted give you a little adjustment...with a 13mm socket :)
