Firstly Hi & Welcome
Yes it does have an emissions test although a reduced one. The two common reasons for emissions off the scale are a knackered air flow meter & a knackered/mis-adjusted throttle position switch.
I assume plugs are Ok & the air filter is clean.
PS Kit cars don't generally do emissions tests unless relatively new.
Hi there.
I have the same problem with my early '85.
Put a new K&N panel filter in and a set of plugs and it still recorded 5.4%
I think the pass limit is 4.5%
Mine has been stood for nearly a year apart from one 3 mile round trip last week
Anything else other than AFM ot TPS?
Check the air filter, they seem to choke up pretty quick on 944's.
If it's still legal, run the tank lowish & chuck some injector cleaner in & give it a good razz down an A road or motorway.
Otherwise yes it'll be check the TPS switch & then swap the AFM, Jon Mitchell in Bournemouth can check & reset them or it's a s/h one for around £50 (get a guarantee!) nor new 'uns are around £200ish go to a Bosch specialist rather than an OPC.
