Today my wiper stalk lost its 'click' and is now quite sloppy in its movement up and down. Still works for each setting though.

Is it repairable or will I need to source a replacement?

Mine does this occasionally when the car isn't used much in the colder weather. On mine it comes back when I use it more or it gets warmer

Funny you should say that, just popped out to the car and wiggled it up and down and its gone back to normal :?

Hadn't used the car for a couple of weeks so maybe its just a quirk of an old 944 :)

I'd be interested in notes on fixing this as I have same issue on my 968....

needs cleaning out and re-lubing, the grease that surrounds the ball bearing in the mech of stalk is thick and dried out and full of fluff and crap,

a good clean with brake cleaner then contact cleaner and a drop of silicone lube should fix it

It's riveted together could be bad news trying to strip it down

Had this problem [floppy stalk] on one of my 968's last winter, used a heat gun to gently warm the unit, left it for a short time to cool a little, it then worked and has been ok ever since.
worth a try!
