I've been having a poke around the outer sill of my 944 S2, and managed to put a hole in it (doh!). So before the whole lot goes, can anyone recommend any welders/restorers in the Nottingham area? I'm guessing it's likely to involve anywhere between a patch repair and complete sill replacement.

On 2nd thoughts it might be worth a phone call to :-
PH Sportscars (Shardlow)
or
Zentrum Porsche www.zentrum.co.uk/ Nottingham

to see if they can recommend anyone.

Have used both some years ago for servicing bit not bodywork.

Sorry to dig up this old post, but to update everyone I went with JD at Cavendish Classics in Long Eaton. He did a good job of cutting out the rusty section, welding in a replacement, then painting. Cost was £200. He told me he has another in recently that required alot more work, sills, arches, floor.

Anyway he did a good job, if you are in the Nottinghamshire area I would check him out for welding work.

Another shout out in favour of Jay at Cavendish Classics, has done work on my 924S race car, inc sills, and does a good job and is very reasonable rates.

He also did a fair amount of work on my Audu Ur Quattro, and I wouldn't entrust that to many people!
