Porsche 924 944 Headlight Alignment Nuts & Frame Rebuild Kit

Post by Lardyforehead »

After pulling apart my headlights after a MOT failure on beam alignment, I found all the plastic adjustment parts were brittle and had crumbled away. Most of the parts can be sourced from VW suppliers but these were not available, plus it seems Porsche will only sell the complete frame assembly at a few hundred of pounds.

I probably could have rigged up a fix but used it as an excuse to get some parts printed in Nylon.

There is one of these per side and they twist 90 degrees to lock in place on the frame. The adjuster screw then goes through it.

They work a treat and now I have a handful of spares so shout if you want a pair, £4 delivered.

You guys are all sorted, parts in the post today but you took the last ones. I have one pair left on ebay and thats it.

Due to the suprising demand (20 odd pairs in a week and a half) i'll get another batch made. Unfortunatly the price will rise need to rise a bit to cover the time/shipping/fees. The first batch were just to recover the costs of a minimum order to get some for my car.

I'm pleased thay are useful though. I wonder how people have been bodging this fix for years?!

Hi,

Very industrious!

I joined the forum as soon as I saw this photo.

Do you still have a pair of these fittings available?

Many thanks.

The original batch of these has long gone and demand seems to be high enough to warrant a second batch.
They now come in two flavours; just the adjustment nuts, or a full kit to rebuild your headlamp frames.

The adjustment nuts are sold as a pair, enough for one car, and are £11.50 inc P&P.

The frame rebuild kits includes everything needed to rebuild both frames. For each frame you get three new studs (two adjustable one fixed), three headlight clips to fit on the end of the studs and one of the adjustment nuts. Note that the non-adjustable stud is knurled and pressed into the frame.
The kit contains enough for one car and is £26.50 inc P&P.
