we had a problem with virgin, our connection was very in and out and kept going. So I harangued them to sort it, now we only get 0.5 mps ! i have checked with other isps and they tell me the fastest available speed on the christchurch exchange is 512 mps . What century am I living in !!!!!! weirdly before they sorted the problem we had 5-7 Mbps work that out??

try http://www.bethere.co.uk possibly the best ISP atm the technical if you ever need them are punjabi but know their beans and fix any problems while you're on the phone. not like the rest seriously.

BT told me i could only get 1.5 meg d/l i'm currently running 4.5 meg d/l and 1.5 meg up on pro at the same price you pay ntl for your connection.

Sounds like a good result. My Dad was having problems with Orange lately and he was getting 0.014Mbps so cue sending lots of emails to them telling them it's a problem at their end as nothing has changed over here and nothing, didn't even get a reply. Told my Dad to get a bit more sh*tty with them and start dropping the names of their competitors and what do you know, problem fixed in under an hour.

You've put the idea of chocolate digestives into my head now and I'm going to have to go down the shops

Barnstaple. What's this pageant of motoring you speak of? I feel a bit out of the loop now.
