 Post subject: lowering?

fronts are easy its a set of springs but what about the rear? how does the adjustment work on the torsion bar?

Id like to know this too as im sure mines been lowered(has yellow shocks and is as stiff as fook) but always wondered about the rear torsion bar set up.

i think its quite easy but need to know what to undo without loosing tension on the bar. last thing i want is to start messin about tryin to get tension back on the bar

It ain't easy, I think if you google clarkes site the details are there or maybe on Lindsays site.
It's done by indexing the torsion bars same as a Beetle, micro adjustment is easy, big adjustment, like lowering can have you phoning the Samaritans.

mines been lowerd it as no bodyroll at all its like a skate-board,hard as hell and rattles your teeth when you drive over a match stick :shock:

The ride in the GTO is like that, I dont think i fancy the ride being that hard. She is comfy at the mo, but i would like her to be a little lower just not to the bone rattling stage. :? :?

looks at rear for droppin it on its arse but digs out the number for the Samaritans first :lol:
