Hi all,

Today driving around Plymouth in my 944 s2, my driver side wing mirror glass just fell off the plastic backing plate, i heard glass smashing whilst driving along and then looked in the wing mirror and it was gone.

Could I ask where to get a replacement (genuine and price if not too steep) and for alternatives, as I still have the plastic backing plate.

You might as well just buy a second hand complete mirror off e bay, that way you will have a spare motor also if your original stops working.

Unlucky, Mine actually fell onto concrete while car was parked and did,nt smash! Glued it back on, heater still heating glass still in situ, Fairly sure you would pick one up on ebay fairly handy, or your local Porsche dealer.

Be aware there are two types of mirror glass available for 944s. Some have a metal clip type fitting where as the other is a round plastic disc that turns to lock it onto the mirrors casing. Depends on the year of the car.

I got a pair of convex ones from Ebay for a fiver apiece ...

Looked at design911 and cost £94 including of vat. Same part no on ebay from carpats4less £47 delivered.
