I would like to congratulate the committee on choosing Gaydon for the 2008 National Day.
The reasons or are many, close to mway network and ease of access. Saff who are used to coping with
large (ish) numbers of visitors, plenty of room for both exhibitors and trade, admission to the National Motor
Museum for its exhibits and facilities ie loos and excellent catering. Beat the hell out of burger vans!
The only let down was probably th PA system which kept going south but i think most people got the gist of
what was going on.
Looking forward to next year at Gaydon already.
George.

It was the south! (Midlands) I wouldn't want it at Beaulieu it's a pig of a place to get to from here & most other places.
I thought Gaydon was great, we had a great run up & back. And in the North Kent it's fairly grim with anything that involves the M25.

sadly Beaulieu is too far south for most people and we just wouldn't get a large enough attendance for a NATIONAL SHOW.

I guess there's nothing to stop your region organising a show there maybe in the spring obviously on a smaller scale than a national show

Yeah, even though it's always nice to have a show like this on your doorstep, I think it's better to have the show in a central location. I can't see many people travelling all the way from the bottom of the country to the top.

I think Gaydon was a great setting for the show, but I do miss the show at Walton Hall.

beauleiu would be good, but its location would be awkward due to not so good road network, also as open to public it would be very busy and the car collection is far bigger than gaydon so probably wouldn't be fully seen or appreciated. the midlands is the best position to keep the distances travelled fair for northern and southern members to travel, gaydon is well placed just off the motorway network, the only thing missing was something for the ladies, a craft fair or something along those lines would have been ideal

Thought Gaydon was superb choice, central located and straight off motorway. No problems getting in, food very good quality. Bonus of museum for when the showers came. Still had plenty of space to grow into, we only filled one side.Track was excellent, thanks to Jeff Maynard for giving me a superb run in his GT3RS (just need the lottery win now!).
For the first event i thought went well, will get more as time goes on.The event team did a superb job considering all volunteers and organising /supporting in their own time (huge thanks to all). Think its now up to us to help improve the event, ideas and help for next year i am sure will be appreciated.
In the mean time THANKS to the TEAM for such a good event, look at the positive press on other forums to see how well the show was received :wav:
