Thanks Greggers. Yes, I recoated within 15 to 25 mins of the first coat and left it a good few days.... I suspect the brake fluid got out in that curing time.... I'll see what I can with them this weekend.

I got a quote to have my calipers done by the above about 2 weeks ago, I'm glad I was sitting down as the 4 fully refurbished came to just below £900! Oh that included the return postage though

Also "Bigg Red" ironically don't refurbish Brembo callpers......Bad choice of company name there!

I used nickson motorsport ( a contributor on here) to remove all the plate bolts on my front calipers,
He charged me about 7.50 gbp per bolt, as I had removed some myself this came to just over 60 gbp.
I straightened out all the plates and re used.
New plate bolts were a few pounds from nickson.
Front seals kit 33 gbp from big red and also a 1 piston was required which was 12 gbp (used but in perfect order.

Powder coating and decals came to 65gbp
I also fitted genuine brembo bleed screw about 15gbp.

All in around 200 pounds for the front calipers, Very satisfying to do.

Regards

Mark

Mondeo bleed nipples are the same as the brembo ones I got 10 for £5 off eBay

There are stainless ones available for Ducati motorcycles but they are expensive

Etch Primed and very happy :D

Two coats of high temp calliper paint... not so happy. Uneven finish, surface hasn't settled as it should have.... kicking myself for using brush application rather than spray despite some convincing arguments for the brush.... Even less happy as it seems some residual brake fluid has leaked from the new untightened nipples and lifted the paint and primer....

Suggestions on rectifying this are very welcome!

They are looking lovely!

I have to ask however, did you strip out and clean the pistons/seals at all?

I was going to fill behind the plates with silicone before fitting the plates to stop water penetration. Also use stainless A4 bolts, they are peanuts from ebay.
