Thanks for the reply, I've used Cath Burrows for a few jobs but she doesn't have a rolling road and i assumed that was a must for set up, i know of Hartech but never been there do they have a rolling road?
How do you mean slippery slope? are you saying its two steps then bang boom and engine rebuild?
I was under the impression the 220bhp upgrade to to 270 was an easy step, (but I do tend to simplify things)
Far from it regarding the engine going bang. I would say however that 270BHP is optimistic. 250-260 IMO is more like what a 220 will make after being chipped. That however will make it way more exciting and reduce turbo lag if using a boost profiler IMO

.
To put it into perspective my chipped 250 made 283BHP. Admitedly the air filter was very dirty but it did have a very free flowing Wortec exhaust, a Lindsey Racing Stage 1 intercooler, Bailey DV30 valve and boosting at 1 Bar

He was referring to it being a slippery slope as to you wanting more power! From simply getting a Stage 1 kit with a boost profiler, uprated fuel regulator, chip and possibly a piston type recirculation valve (or a 993 Turbo item seems to work) that can be a stepping stone to something else, including a dual port wastegate from Tial, larger injectors, MAF conversions (or Tom Barker's ECU setup) and that is before you start going towards fancier headgaskets etc. as you start becoming a number chaser

.
The 944 (or at least one on a sorted chassis) will happily swallow power upgrades IMO.
