Hi,

Found this under my 944S2 Cab this morning. It feels like soft plastic. No clue what it's come off. Any ideas anyone?

Should say that I've just had a minor service and cambelt done. Also 4 new tyres, but that seems unlikely to have anything to do with it.

Cheers,
Bryan

It looks very clean TBH ... I was thinking it might have been one of the inspection hole bungs for the sill cavity that you can access in the rear arch, but mine had been over-sealed...

Hi, that's a 'cap' - there are two fitted. One in the clutch inspection hole in the clutch bellhousing, and one is fitted at the other end of the torque tube in the other bellhousing - access to the coupling screws. My bet is the front...easy to spot.

Thanks Rhett. Looks like you were right.

The other one you suggested is a bit smaller, but at least now I've learned where the clutch inspection hole is!

Cheers,
Bryan

Hi Bryan, the cap probably fell out as the rubber gets a bit hard over time and doesn't grip so well. Perhaps a dab of some adhesive or sealant to help secure it would prevent it dropping out again? Might not drop out...but better safe than sorry? :)

Reminds me of a nasty boss we had when I lived in Devon.
He had a Granada Cosworth and doted on it.
We would drop a patch of oil under it and he would ask the garage to sort it out.............................we left it a week and do it again  trust me he deserved it. The garage did not though.
