Can you describe the noise? I can describe the noise my cab makes as like an unlit, old style gas cooker, but without the "hiss", if you know what I mean? It's there all the time, but I've only really noticed it this week after your question. I have the same tyres as you and have also just changed my gearbox oil. My noise hasn't changed. It's not intrusive as it's always been there.

I seem to remember a posting on here where someone removed the rear seats and the carpet in the boot and couldn't believe how noisy it was.

Cheers,
Bryan

Right here goes. Wwwwom......wwwom....wwom...wom..wom.wom
It speeds up with car speed(not engine speed)With clutch engaged or disengaged. Does make a difference cornering, accelerating or braking. The noise just comes and goes. Always when I pull away first thing in the morning. Overall i'd say its gradually getting worse.

That was my original thought. Suppose the noise could travel up the drive shaft. The noise is coming from the left with me in the drivers seat, but the centre of the car is also on the left of my ear.

Does the noise increase on RH turns? Sounds and noises inside a car can be very deceptive as to their location.

Sometimes the only way to be sure is run the car up on a wheel free ramp and get a stethoscope on the various locations

no difference on left or right turns. I need to sit in the passenger seat and let someone else drive. As each passenger I ask can't really hear anything.

I had that on my cab , and swopped CV joints , played around with handbrakes etc etc.Even had the car up on axle stands listening with a piece of pipe as a stethoscope , but came to no firm conclusions.Spoke to Jon Mitchell and he said it was a wheel bearing , and yes it was.( Should have spoken to him first!! )

With yours, did the noise come and go?
