It is with huge sadness that I am selling my lovely 944 Turbo. Some of you will be familiar with this fantastic car. The Zermatt silver bodywork It is in superb, rust free, condition. Mechanically it is spot on, even the dark blue leather interior is in great condition (except for the usual driver side seat bolster wear). I have a huge history file of receipts, the original Porsche sales brochure, stamped service book and a full workshop manual. In addition to the 17" Speedline wheels fitted to the car I also have a set of 16" D90's for track day use.

The car is garaged, used on dry weekends and has a fitted car cover.

The car has the M030 kit with adjustable Koni shocks.

Since buying the car I have always had whatever work necessary carried out by either ProMax or my local Porsche specialist. I have also upgraded to modernise the appearance and improve performance (details below).

If you want to come and have a look, a chat and a cup of tea, you are most welcome. I would rather sell to a TIPEC member so I have not advertised elsewhere yet but I would ask that anyone buying the car give me first refusal to buy it back, should they ever come to sell it again as I am only selling as I have lost my job.

I will try to answer any questions as quickly as possible. The price is £6950.

Regular Maintenance:
30/8/08: Discs and EBC Redstuff pads all round
9/2/08: Oil service, MOT & diff. oil change
21/9/07: Perished hose replaced
2/8/07: Gear lever bush replaced
11/7/07: New spark plugs, HT leads, distributor cap & rotor arm
11/7/07: All vacuum hoses replaced
11/7/07: Replace front brake calliper, front and rear ARB bushes + air flow meter
24/4/07: Full service, balance belts, cam belt and tensioner
06/02/07: Central locking and O/S door seal
19/10/06: All power steering hoses replaced
10/4/06: Service and sunroof switch replaced
3/5/06: Repair alarm and replace ABS pump
10/1/06: Repair PAS pump
8/11/05: Refurbishment of fuel injection system

Modifications:
Clear indicator lenses all round
ProMax 4 wheel geometry setup
Speedline 2pc split rim 17" alloy wheels refurbished in black and silver with nearly new Goodyear F1 GSD3 tyres
Momo race steering wheel (and the original one too!)
ProMax Ignition tune up kit
ProMax Level Two performance Kit
968 rear castor mounts
Braided steel brake hoses
EBC Redstuff brake pads
ATE Blue brake fluid
3" stainless steel Hayward & Scott exhaust system

Go for it Pauly. You know you want to!

Tough luck Tom. But I can see the hole in your bank balance.

Something else has already come up, a pity as this car has all the right bit's and it's only up the road from me.

Tom that's a shame, it looks fantastic.
Wheer did you get the wheels from, all the splits I've seen have been 18" ?
I fancy black centres with silver rims for mine.

I bought the wheels from eBay and had them refurbished. I haven't seen another set of 17" split rims in any make, let alone Speedline, so I guess that they must be quite rare.

I have been asked by a couple of people what the various modifications do. The ProMax web site gives full details:
http://www.promaxmotorsport.com/
If you look at the navigation bar on the left hand side of the page you will see a section titled "944 Turbo Perf Kits". Under that heading are the links to "ProMax level 2" and "Ignition tune up". The "Vacuum kit" is in the "944 Turbo" section.

After fitting all of the engine modifications I took the car to a rolling road and had it dyno'ed. It currently makes 232bhp at the rear wheels (approx. 297bhp at the flywheel) and, more importantly, 233lb/ft of torque at 3500rpm at the rear wheels!!!

As for the brakes, I have attended a couple of track days. The car is very stable and very quick. However, it has not been lightened in any way and so is in full (heavy) road going trim. Despite this, and running standard brakes, the braided hoses, ATE fluid and EBC Redstuff pads work together brilliantly to give totally fade free braking. On the road, the Redstuff pads work really well from cold - I cannot tell any difference from OEM pads. Finally, the car comes with brand new (not yet fitted) front and rear discs, pads and wear sensors.

Thanks Derrick, I still look back at Bruntingthorpe with a huge smile :D - if I don't get a decent offer I will try to find a way to keep the car - maybe it's a sensible daily driver...
