Evening all

So today I began stripping the engine on the 944 for head gasket replacement and various other jobs,
When I removed the intake manifold I came across a switch of some sort with two vacuum pipes connected ,located at the rear of the head in a coolant elbow just before the heater valve.
Can someone shed some light on what this is and how to test if it works or not?

Any help would be great

Tel

its for emissions and the fuel tank breather system, it switches a vacuum signal based on heat in the coolant so the fuel tank vents at the right times.

The carbon canister should cause no crap to leak out.

The bulkhead drains leak out there though, so the only thing which should drain down there is any rain water which collects near the fuse box.
